The Quilt Crossing is privileged to have Joyce as a member of the Sew n Sews. In addition to working in the store Joyce has a new book hot off the press from Leisure Arts. Titled A New Spin On Curved Piecing her techniques will take the fear out of the process while producing remarkably accurate results. Joyce says of herself:
“The youngest child of a family of Idaho loggers, I spent summers in the mountains and as an adult enjoy living part-time in a rustic cabin. My sisters and I share an inherited artistic talent; sewing, drawing, and needlework are lifetime hobbies.”
“The purchase of an oversized coffee-table book on modern quilt makers was the turning point in my artistic endeavors. I’ve been deep into quilting ever since. My recent fascination has centered around designs where traditional quilt blocks with straight line are re-interpreted using gently curved lines. It has become my goal to take the fear out curved piecing. I try to make my designs so beautiful that all quilt makers are willing to give machine-pieced curves a try.”
If you are in the area, please join us Saturday, November 20, from 11 AM - 3 PM for her Autograph Party.
Otherwise we invite you to view Joyce’s book and pattern offerings.
