If it looks like we have an affection for Clover products, it’s true. They are always well-designed and well-made, performing as promised every time. Our featured favorite notion this week is the Clover Fusible Bias Tape Maker. I’m the reviewer this week, so here’s what I (Patty Hinkel) have to say:
If you think of bias as a four-letter word, then stop yer cussin’ and use the Clover Fusible Bias Tape Makers. The tools, available in five sizes (1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″ and 1″) and the web (5mm or 10mm), let you create vines with the raw edges turned under and a strip of fusible web pressed on the underside, all in one step. Then, you remove the paper from the web and easily press it in place. You still need to stitch it down by hand or machine (try a double needle on straight lines - magical), but the fusible keeps it perfectly in place until you are ready to sew. If you don’t want to use the fusible web, you can use the tool as a regular bias tape maker. Regardless, the bias is always the correct width - I can’t say the same for any other method I’ve used. What a great notion! To watch a how-to video from Clover, Click here for Video.
