The Quilt Crossing’s Twelve Days of Christmas

December 23, 2010

Special - Day 12

Good until December 23rd

Hoffman Fabrics designs the best batik fabrics in the world, in our not-so-humble opinion. They are produced on the island of Bali, using traditional hand techniques, by master craftspeople. Hoffman groups these fabrics into yummy collections and cuts 2-1/2″ strips. There are forty “flavors” in each group. We love them for several reasons: a) because they are beautiful b) because their high thread count makes them so easy to work with and c) because, unlike jelly rolls, the fabrics always work well together to make a cohesive quilt. For the next twenty-four hours, the five flavors shown above are $27.95 each - a $7.00 savings. If you bought all five, you’d save $35 dollars - WOW!

And remind Santa, et al, to pick up your goodies before we close at 4pm on December 24th - he won’t want to be on your naughty list!

Special - Day 11

Good until December 23rd

Mary Ellen’s Best Press makes ironing fun!  Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but it does make it easier and better smelling!  The scent is light, never cloying, and Best Press never clogs, flakes, or leaves residue on fabric; it adds a nice crispness that makes it easier to sew (and helps me increase my accuracy); it helps resist wrinkles, and is acid free. Plus kind of addictive.  Our little polka dot bag of six 2-ounce bottles - one each of Lavender Fields, Cherry Blossom, Citrus Grove, Tea Rose Garden, Caribbean Beach, and Scent Free - is regularly $23.99.  Today it’s only $19.99.  Get one for yourself and one for your best quilting bud.

Next to sewing, what’s our favorite pastime?  Eating?  Okay, that too.  But cooking is the right answer.  Because we enjoy it so, the Sew-n-Sews got together and made a cookbook of our favorite recipes - they are truly yummy!  It’s the book we reach for when we’re looking for a crowd pleaser.  Today’s special is a copy of the cookbook ($17.95 with $2.00 of that donated to the Idaho Food Bank), a “Grandma Dot’s Fruit Pie Hot Pad” pattern (designed by the famous authoress, Joyce Cambron), and a kit to make a red berry pie hot pad ($5.99).  If you buy today, the pattern is yours for free - a savings of $4.99!
